SPIRITUAL BREAD PART 3

In times of trouble like today, belief and faith to the Almighty One will make a difference. There is no problem that cannot be solved; it will just bring the best in everyone.

Now we can say that times have changed and the dawn of a new era is imminent for the world we live in. At present, if a country is not suffering from a disaster, it is trying to survive an enduring war. While some countries may be spared from these unfortunate events, nonetheless, they deal with poverty brought about by the evil and greedy people who, when asked about their wealth and criminal deeds, seems to have lost their memory. So, there you are, presently, we have famine and poverty, disaster, war, and the emergence of all kinds of religious beliefs claiming to be the true religion that will send you to heaven whereas they themselves are not sure where the way is. It is the same as mentioned in the Book of Revelation.
Then if this is the case, let us not panic instead we have to strengthen our faith and everything will be fine. My article for a week will be your guide.

DAY 6 : STRENGTH IN WEAKNESS

Mathew 20:20-28
Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.

I have never been amazed by any politician in my entire life. They are more like clowns that entertain people. Even worst, they rape the economy by means of corruption. In the beginning, they will all clamor for our precious votes so they will have the power to serve and lead. They will do all sort of things such as dance even if they look so funny doing it; others sing even though their voice is good in the shower room only; they will even eat food that they have never eaten before and say how good it tastes though it’s not. And the price of all this is the seat of power specially made for the best man or woman who the voting populace believes will serve.
But being in power doesn’t mean you have the power. Living and walking daily with a swarm of security personnel because of the thought that maybe somebody may hurt or kill you doesn’t show even a glimpse of strength. Hence, the most powerful people on earth are the weakest indeed.
The main reason of such weakness is that they never serve the people they promised to serve. They just put the power in their heads for their own interest and that’s why they end up being hated by people and this created fear within themselves – fear of being harmed by those people they failed to serve.
Great man of faith that walks on earth walks alone. Though sometimes they may be in the company of other people but, they are only ordinary people who don’t bear any arms for security. Yes, many of them were killed alone and lonely with only their beliefs. But even beyond death, their power remains strong. And those who believe and live by the framework of their teachings continue to show great strength.
Christ was killed alone; without His disciples alongside Him on the cross. But this superficial weakness made Him God by those who believe that He is the Son of God. His power remained even after thousands of years and is still going stronger through the miracles that happen in our daily lives.
Ninoy Aquino was killed alone in the tarmac by the most powerful people in the country. But his weakness produced two presidents from his family. And, he is now a hero for his martyrdom.
Where are these powerful people? They died lonely and long forgotten because the power was never there and never was. The future generation will never even mention their names as an epitome of great power but of greed and selfishness.
Having money and having less spell a big difference. They say that wealth is power but how come the wealthy people never stop being greedy. It seems having millions of money is not enough for them; they will never achieve fulfillment. On the other hand, those who have less have the power to enjoy life with their love ones. They can spend quality time with their love ones, whereas wealthy people do not have the luxury of time for anything else aside from earning more money.

My current situation speaks well of this. I was weak, powerless, and have a lot of limitations when Banco Filipino closed and thus we are denied of our hard-earned money. And sadly, my own foundation has an account in this bank. So, it means all projects geared towards helping people will be put on hold while the process of getting the money back is at work.
But one day, one of my sons came to my office, talked to my secretary, and donated his money so he can help the foundation continue helping people. I am so proud having a son like that. In my weakness, brought about by the temporary loss of money, emerged the strength in what kind of family I have. A helping hand and voluntarily attitude from a young mind like that made me strong. They can have all my money but it will never make me weak for I felt so rich and proud having a family like that.

Learn to accept your weakness and only after that will you discover your strength. Don’t be proud of your wealth and power instead, serve those people who have less. Only then will true strength and power be yours even beyond life.
Every day in our life we should accept our weakness then we will discover our strength when we settle with our faith. We have limitation; we have no constant power that will last forever. But real strength will come to those who have belief and faith on something much powerful than man.
