The Canadian government has just announced that the country will accept more immigrants in the next year or so.
This news I bet you caused many a heart aflutter at the golden opportunities it opens up, not only for those who dream to have a crack at a better life by jumping out of the frying pan into a land of milk and honey, but also to a shady bunch who are salivating at the chance to rob them of their hard earned money.
Yes, it will be great that Canada will welcome immigrants once again, but applicants should not be over anxious with the process but instead take care to go through the proper channels, as forging through a forest where you are not familiar in is fraught with surprises and dangers that could frustrate your dreams.
It could be full of scammers, sweet-talking you to an easy and sure way to come to Canada, yet only interested with your cash, but not your passage. We already saw many swindling case involving immigration before this announcement, how much more now that the pasture is being opened up for the wolves.
We would like to reiterate that there are already so many victims on TNT around, those that came here without the proper documentation, those that were swindled by heartless unlicensed recruiters who live from the spoils of their illegal activities.
The advocates and the people that are helping victims are actively pursuing and working with the regulatory governing bodies that handle illegal recruitments in Canada.
These alleged scammers and swindlers have their souls already burning in hell while they are still alive and kicking. They are used to this kind of work that they do not care about hurting others anymore.
An alleged scammer who has been into it for years, came to light when she herself out of greed to get more victims decided to use ABS CBN, then the biggest network in the Philippines to advertise her recruiting business.
She also paid announcers and DJ’s to advertise her and even defamed people who are against her racket. She even announced it on radio and TV that Balita Newspaper and a paralegal soon to become a practicing lawyer became famous because of her.
Who does she think of herself? In fact, she became famous through us. It was Balita Newspaper, already an established media institution in Canada for over four decades with a record of fighting scammers in the community, that picked up her case in response to numerous complaints from her victims.
The whole Philippines, those who were dreaming to come to Canada were of course impressed and some did everything they know to earn the amount needed to apply, not knowing that there was no actual jobs, but this woman scammer kept selling the dream that she is in the position to make them become rich.
I wonder how she reacted that later on, it was no less than the Philippine Ambassador to Canada that issued a press release denying that those jobs existed.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration also issued a statement regarding the news about jobs as mushroom pickers, that there is no accredited recruitment agency and no approved job orders or employers.
But for those that already paid, it was too late. This time, even the best PR writer in the world cannot change the fact of who you are, and what you are being hunted for.
For those that are dreaming to come, just to be able to pay their first down payment, had the feeling that they already had their first foot forward, that someday, there is fulfillment of their dreams to be able to reach another country to give a better life for themselves and their loved ones.
It was already too late to realize they were conned and so ended up cursing the recruiter to the bone.
The illegal recruiting went around the world, netting hundreds out of their life savings. That is what our hard-working advocates are working on, meeting and interviewing victims, helping them to file their cases and alarm the authorities.
Some were personally driven to the police station, and to the lawyers to file their cases. As a result the advocates, the Elite Crusaders, are under attack in retribution for helping the victims. Now they are the butt of revenge, with bad publicity and negative media coverage.
It is Christmas again and we can just imagine those that lost their monies from these no-conscience, no-soul, illegal recruiters, how they will spend their holidays when they are in debt and all they have are anger, frustrations and hopefully to get even with these animals in Canada that are now in hiding from victims and the authorities.
But everything has to come to an end. Everyone in the case is hopeful that justice will be served and monies that they lost will eventually be earned back.
Still, mga Kababayan, BEWARE ****
