‘sa totoo lang’- ‘bringing home the bacon.’

Or in Pinoy…paano nga ba…pag- uuwi ng tapa, lechon, anong ulam ba ang comparable sa bacon?
Of course, happy kami dito- hindi muna kay Sen. Manong Johny Ponce Enrile who has made ‘gusto ko happy ka’ his very own election battlecry in the may 2010 campaign but for our PNoy coming back home from the US. Itong pasimuno ng dinudustang mala ‘student council’ kuno government was, we think, able to carry himself ( as well as the country of which he is the new leader) well before the eyes of many of the world’s influential and powerful leaders. Tunay na na- ‘carry’ nya ang papel ng pagkapresidente- mula sa kanyang physical na ‘dating’- ang kanyang pananamit ay pinagtulung- tulungan daw iporma at buuin ng mga fashion/ style friends ni sis Kris and most importantly by the statements that came out from his mouth, simple lang and sincere.
So, pagbigyan na nga natin si PNoy when, as he came back to the country, very happily ipinagmalaki nya na he was able to get some $2.4billion worth of investment pledges (from three investment firms)in addition to grants for the Philippines (including a $434 million grant from the Millenium Challenge Corp). May ‘K’ talaga syang magyabang! At a time pa na napapahilahod ang ating bansa sa napasobra naman yatang pagkutya ng ilang mga Chinese at maraming din nating mga sariling kababayan bunsod na malagim na Luneta incident in August this year.
Ansabi ni PNoy, pag ito ay nagtuluy- tuloy, matutupad na rin ang pangarap nyang magprovide ng 10,000jobs a year for Philippine workers in the areas of business and knowledge processing, healthcare, garments and leather goods, process outsourcing nd power generation consumer products.
Shut up.’
Nabigla si intrigerong neighbor. Nag shut up na nga.
Speaking of bringing home the bacon, maski hindi ako real sports fan, I was truly happy that our Team Jeepney Philippines captured the Host Cup trophy in the recently- held Homeless World Cup in Brazil.
This annual football event showcases the mettle of football teams from many nations worldwide. More importantly, the meet aims to generate public awareness on what the homeless and the poor can be capable of once given the boost and incentives they need to excel.
Yes. Team Jeepney Philippines, as well as the rest of the teams coming from 64 nations that joined the event are composed of poor and homeless athletes trained and coached to compete in football. Ang alam ko, itong team natin was trained by a volunteer foreign coach pa mandin who believed in the program so much that he even spent his own private funds as additional show of support.
Congratulations and welcome back home to PNoy and Team Jeepney Philippines!
Thank you, Toronto!
