Finally, Richard Gutierrez revealed to press people that he’s very proud of his child Zion by his girlfriend Sarah Labhati. Sarah clarified that she never denied but rather kept the truth under wraps for a while for privacy. Now, both of them are fully prepared for the responsibilities of parents to disclose publicly.

Before the Martial Law days, Andrew Go founded the newspapers Daily Star and Pilipino Star. He hired the same staff. Including our group. The only newcomer then he employed was a fresh, smart a lucky graduate from U.P. Lolit Solis, assigned as society editor. That early, Lolit told us that if she would switch to movie writing, she would change the system.
True to her words, during the Martial Law years , Lolit became a freelance movie reporter and the publicist of Lily Monteverde’s Regal Films. Lolit convinced Mother Lily to make it SOP to hand token of gratitude to the movie press who graced the press cons. Thus, all the movie producers, even celebrities followed suit that ignited the so called payola system.
Recalling back, Douglas, Ched, Ross had passed way. But their cherished memories remain instilled in my mind. At times, Tony and I exchange pleasantries over the phone here in Canada. Meanwhile Lolit’s career’s flourishes too as talent manager and TV host of Star Talk. Her image as Madam Ang Datung (showbiz term for money) keeps intact.
As Lolit (ninang of my daughter in baptism) once assessed to me.” Noong una, hiyang-hiya ang movie press sa ways ko. But later also grateful to me. I just made them to realize that in return for helping the stars, producers in the promo, we deserve to get our due.”
