For 17 University of Santo Tomas-Education High School Class of 1970 members and 14 of their spouses and family, the pre-pandemic midsummer of 2018 – from August 17 to 19 – was special.
Many of them may have not seen each other for over four decades, but the hugs and handshakes were still as warm and welcoming as before.
Topping that is the undeniable fact that each can still vividly remember what fun they may have done and what comic relief may have happened when they were secondary school students back then.
Adding to the nostalgia was the excitement of getting together in and exploring the great City of Toronto, the first outside the Philippines and the USA since classmates and batch mates met up in mini and grand reunions after graduation.
They were likewise fascinated by the small town beauty of Niagara-On-The-Lake and were awed by the powerful and endless gush of the trio Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Falls and Wedding Veil Falls, a Wonder of the World they can only wish was in the bucket list in 1970.The Canada reunion attendees are Loida Arceo, daughter Liberty Bautista and granddaughter Mila Janae Gibb; Marilyn Bautista-Alberto and Al Alberto; Tony and Evelyn Borja; Grace Cabardo; Martha Dayao-Ocampo and Teny Ocampo; Ditas Fajardo-Garcia and Manny Garcia; Jing Firmeza; Butch and Evelyn Galicia; Cynthia Garcia; Precy Guevara-Ravago; Allan and Susan Gutierrez; Angie Martinez-Ontong; Cheri Reyes-Dauterman; Rick and Milot Rivera and grandson Mateo Rivera; Armi Sibug-Lockey; Ted and Angela Soriano; Nettie Teleron-Lagrosa and RJ Lagrosa and special guests Arnel and Mitos Caballes.
