PINOYS IN NIAGARA, PLEASE BEWARE

THIS IS HOW NAOMI ONG and ROXLEE ONG played their tricks on us.  As narrated by Mae Bentia, the victim and now one of the victims’ advocates.

MARCH 2. 2019 – in a BIRTHDAY party.

The couple NAOMI and ROXLEE ONG introduced themselves to me.

Naomi says “DI BA IKAW SI MAE? Yes, I am.  Hey, I know you. I saw you before at the house of Joel and Cathy.

I felt special that they would remember me as that was a long time ago. Roxlee seconded, “I remember your name “my response, oh wow interesting that you remember my name.  They started talking to me, asked for my mobile number and if I am on Facebook.

That was the start of everyday phone calls and chat on Facebook messenger.

One day, Naomi and Roxlee knocked on my door with food and drinks saying they are so concerned about me being alone and so I do not have to cook.

Naomi said they came to offer me a job to be the manager of their restaurant.

That is when she started to show me impressive documents about them. A bank statement on her phone showing a $450,000 claiming to be theirs.

Then she produced a paper, told me that she would sign it first and that will show her sincerity, the document says, she would be the employer. Then proceeded with saying that since I am now their restaurant manager Naomi suggested that we hire my brother from the Philippines to work for me as all around entertainer, kitchen helper etc.

She asked for $3000 for my brother’s working permit and airfare. Then they left. After a few minutes, got a call from Naomi asking  me to send the money that day saying  the bank was closing at 6:00 p.m. She was yelling because she said she already signed the document that she left with me so I need to pay her for it.

Unfortunately, that same day, confused and pressured with her yelling, I lost my focus with my housework, I lifted a glass table and accidentally dropped it cutting my big toe. That made me incapacitated, could not get up and was in severe pain and was hospitalized for the needed surgery.

While in the hospital, I got a call from Naomi saying we are having problems with my brother’s work permit and suggested that I hire two more people to come with him. Naomi said she was so concerned and felt bad for what happened and that I will be needing somebody to take care of me while I am disabled. So I thought of my cousin and her husband who also wanted to emigrate.

With me in the hospital, she rushed me on giving  her another $6000 for the work permits of my two relatives.  I was in full medication and she took advantage of that and I completely lost my focus. By March 11th. a total of $9000 was already in Naomi’s hands with the promise that she would work on getting them the work permit needed.

When I came to my senses, I realized what had just happened, I immediately contacted her to get my money back, but she refused and that was the end of it.

Up to now, am still collecting, I had filed a case in the Small Claims Court, and the default judgement is being handled by my lawyer.

On the process, we discovered that I was not the only victim. There were so many of us, in London, Toronto and other provinces and in the U.S. This do not include the victims from the Philippines and other countries before the former Naomi Cuaresma came to Toronto. This was reported by her own Aunt who lives in Finland and revealed that Naomi was deported and by another cousin in the U.S.

Now, another kindhearted Filipino family in Niagara reported to the police and victims that Naomi and Roxlee have moved to Niagara Falls to probably start their racket again. We just received the complaint from her first victim in Niagara.

Balita goes up to Hamilton only, so they probably thought Filipinos may not be aware of their racket, but they are wrong. Filipinos talk and are watching out for each other.  If you know somebody or you have been victimized, please report them to the authorities.  You are not only helping yourself but the others.  Don’t be afraid to speak up. There are advocates who are willing to help.

There  are other Naomi and Roxlee Ong around and so do not be swayed by their sweet tongue. People like them do not work for a living. They are constantly looking for would be victims.  Please watch out and take care of each other.****
