Make A Move for Men

Men will die earlier than women on average of four and a half years for reasons that are preventable. Majority of men suffers from conditions such as mental health, prostate cancer, testicular diseases, and lifestyle-related illnesses. In fact, 70 percent of Canadian men have two or more unhealthy habits, and 70 percent of all the chronic conditions experienced by men are mainly due to stress and unhealthy lifestyle. Taking control of one’s health by changing unhealthy habits and lowering stress levels can help a person to live longer and feel better.

Men tends to keep silent and stay quiet about their health, some are even reluctant to see a doctor because of various reasons. This could be one of the many factors that hinders men to access quality health care and services.  For this reason, the Movember was founded to address this health crisis, not only in Canada, but on a global scale. Movember gathers all the experts to collaborate on projects that empowers men to seek and access appropriate and culture-sensitive health services. They prioritise projects related to issues facing men: mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Your support and donation to Movember will impact men’s health both locally and globally. They fund projects that are culturally and country-specific health programs while collaborating on game-changing solutions that addresses men’s health. You can also support their initiatives by making a move – run or walk 60km over the month. To learn more about their programs and projects, please visit their website at ca.movember.com.
