Talks have been bruited around that ABS-CBN management eyes James Reid to be the next leading man of Kathryn Bernardo in an experimental project. And eventually the tandem of Daniel Padilla and Nadine Lustre would follow. This means, there’s a possibility of exchange love teams. If ever, how will the Kathniel and Jadine fanatics react?
My colleague did hush-hush to me what Kathryn divulged to her. She’s somewhat befuddled by such rumor. “I really don’t know. But if it pushes through, ok lang. My only request to our fans is for them to respect the Kapamilya bigwigs’ decision, if ever. After all, the four of us are attached to each other. A problem won’t bug us.” Kathryn uttered.
Incidentally, Kathryn mentioned to my source that her mom Min Bernardo pleaded her to refrain from using social media accounts momentarily. This could be ascribed to frequent dastard comments Kathryn has received from bashers.
I’d rather spend more of my time to other important things than be affected by hurting words thrown to me and Daniel, especially during the election campaign period.” Kathryn was quoted as saying.
Trivia:
The recent election results focused anew the plight of celebrities who ran for a position, either ended up as winners or losers. Did you know, however, that the same occurrence tapped stars in the ‘60s and ‘70s? To recount, the very first movie idol who won in the Senate race was the late Rogelio dela Rosa. He was encouraged to try politics by no less than the Philippine president then the deceased Diosdado Macapagal.
It so happened Rogelio’s sibling was the first wife of Macapagal. When she died, he married Eva Macapagal, ex president Gloria M. Arroyo’s mom. Rogelio’s nephew by his sis Arturo Macapagal used to be noted champ in golf locally and abroad. The unexpected demise of Rogelio aborted his chance to serve a higher position in government. But before his death, Macapagal appointed him Philippine ambassador to an Asian country.
Another popular actor that time, the late Fred Montilla followed suit. He emerged as a Quezon City councilor. In the late ‘60s, top actor Joseph Estrada became a long time San Juan mayor. Subsequently, Erap was lucky to win as senator and then the head of the country. His sons Jinggoy Estrada and nephew ER Ejercito turned political figures too.
The screen hero of true to life stories Ramon Revilla Sr. came next. Before he was elected in a Senate seat, he served as officer of the Bureau of Customs. His actor-son Bong Revilla lost in his first attempt as Cavite governor. Nevertheless, Bong made it in his second try, so with his wife Lani Mercado who lost too but later voted a Congresswoman from Cavite.
Action star Lito Lapid proved his detractors wrong when he got one of the highest votes in the senatorial race and also reelected on his second time. Voters put weight on the fact he had passed many bills that favored the senior citizens and the poor people in the country.
In the later years, the lucky ones were Joey Marquez (Paranaque mayor), Noli de Castro (Philippine vice president), Jestoni Alarcon (vice mayor in a Rizal province), Yul Servo, Isko Moreno (Manila councilors),Anjo Yllana (Paranaque councilor) and of course Vilma Santos (Batangas governor).
The unlucky stars were Richard Gomez, Cesar Montano who didn’t make in the Senate race, Edu Manzano and Phillip Salvador for mayor, Nora Aunor and Imelda Papin who were defeated in a Bicol towns as mayor and Annabelle Rama who was beaten in Cebu .The most controversial was the loss of the late Fernando Poe Jr. for presidency against Gloria Arroyo.

World famous Filipino multi-awarded movie director Brilliante Mendoza shines anew in the recent Cannes Film Festival in France. The Philippine entry Ma Rosa which he helmed was given a standing ovation by the audience during its premiere night showing. He was present, together with the lead stars Andi Eigennman, Jaclyn Jose and Maria Isabel Lopez. The plot wobbles on drugs and corrupt policemen.
Maria Isabel whose ex beauty queen created a stir too as her elegant gown designed by Albern Aldana (the one who made Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach’s gowns at the beauty tilt) enthralled the crowds that echoed she seemed a Ms. Universe contestant. Thus, she made it a viral at social media accounts there. Andi was chosen one of the best dressed by the Vanity Fair mag during the red carpet.
To top it, Jaclyn was declared best actress at the awards rites. A teary-eyed Jaclyn hugged Brilliantes on stage as shown in French newspapers.

At the same time Alden Richards, Maine Mendoza of the Aldub global phenomenon fame as documented by the World Guinness Books of Records for number one biggest tweets in one day with more than 21 millions, shared the spotlight in Italy while filming the movie Imagine You and Me. The Italian newspapers not only featured the tandem but the mayor of Como, Italy posed with Aldub doing the pabebe way posted at Instagram.
The query of many boils out to one thing. Will Alden and Maine admit they are now confirmed lovers upon their arrival in the Philippines? Talks snowball, Maine allegedly accepted Alden’s love in a romantic place in Italy.

Sen. Francis Clarifies Sharon’s Absence
Out of Sharon Cuneta’s non-attendance at the proclamation of the elected 12 senators that included her husband Francis Pangilinan, not a few queried. Was there a rift between the couple? At once, she did bester it by saying her coaching job in the TV show The Voice Kids caused her absence.
It was Francis who clarified that he asked Sharon to choose her TV stint. “I knew that for days its tapings were cancelled due to technical problems. Tiyempong natuloy sa proclamation day kaya ako mismo ang nagsabing unahin niya yun.” The reelected senator quipped.
For Francis and Sharon, his forthcoming oath taking would be more vital event. Surely, all members of their family will be completely present to witness it.
Will Kris Sue Skin Care Company?
At this writing, Kris Aquino and her lawyers are on the brink of filing a case against a skin care company. Kris affirmed that in an article, the firm fraudulently claimed she endorsed its products sans her knowledge. This put her in bad light for she’s the endorser of the company’s rival Olay, P &G that disparages her good relationships with the latter.
“My reputation is at stake. I’m that kind of person. That’s why I’ve consulted my legal counsel.” Kris was quoted as saying.
Incidentally, how true that Kris and ABS-CBN management have misunderstanding as evident by her long absence from the kapamilya network? Allegedly, the rift transpired when her supposed new talk show with Anthony Taberna didn’t push through despite advanced tapings.
Current Tidbits:
Jaclyn Jose’s unmindful of the criticisms of some that she didn’t deserve the Cannes best actress award, saying her role wasn’t lengthy. You see, the jury composed of famous celebrities in U.S., Europe told her it’s not the long exposure on the screen but the acting in every scene that counts. And all the judges unanimously voted for her unique style that penetrated their hearts
Admittedly, Angelica Panganiban visualized herself still hurting inside since her split with John Lloyd Cruz. But she emerged a better person who has learned a lot. In fact, she and Lloydie remain friends to this date. At the moment, their chance to reconcile seems not possible yet.
Veteran songstress Imelda Papin who ran and Lost for a Congressional seat in Camarines Sur has filed electoral protest for massive cheatings. Truth to tell, she’s a loser several times in politics in the past. Looks like Imelda’s field not the political arena.
