Few weeks back, there was a report that TV5 big boss Manny Pangilinan offered to buy GMA-7 for P40 billion. The latter replied its network not for sale. However, Atty. Felipe Gozon recently drawled that if the price falls on P100 billion, the Kapuso station would give in, A serious or a giddy joke on his part?
Come to think of it, GMA-7 sustains being a top rater especially in the afternoon slots, beating the Kapamilya shows at that in the rating chart. Many doubt Atty. Gozon’s statement. That he declared such words tongue-on cheek. Granting though that it’s for real, Will TV5 bite it? Ah, that’s something to look forward to.
Latest on Claudine, Raymart VS Mon
In the Inside Showbiz Report show of the Kapamilya network, host Ogie Diaz magnified that majority of texters denounced the abominable act of Claudine Barretto at the NAIA Terminal Airport as she tongue-lashed the female employee which ignited the animus and fray between Claudine, Raymart Santiago’s camp and that of broadcaster-columnist Mon Tulfo and his brothers.
Then co-host Carmina villaroel narrated she queried her hubby Zoren Legaspi if she were in Claudine’s shoes, how would he react? “Sabi niya, nakakahiya ang ginawa mo. For sure, iiwan kita sa airport.”Proving to all and sundry, he didn’t conform to what Raymart did.
On the other hand. GMA-7 shows have a protective, doughty support for Claudine and Raymart. Understandably so for both are the station contract artists. At least, Claudine found an ally on the women’s group GABRIELA who stands by her. A Tearful Mother’s Day for Lani
Congresswoman Lani Mercado spent a tearful Mother’s Day when her mom died. The entire Revillas and Mercados were in mourning, including Lani’s sis ,erstwhile actress Millie Mercado. The latter was under contract with Lea Productions that included Hilda Koronel, Ed Finlan, Mildred Ortega and the late Jay Ilagan.
Meanwhile, Lani stressed she won’t run for a senatorial slate next election as she and hubby Sen. Bong Revilla both nixed down the offer by political parties. She laughed off the rumors that her son Jolo Revilla secretly married a non-showbiz girl.
ABS-CBN Executive Upset Sharon
On her twitter accounts, Sharon Cuneta snorted her dismay over an ABS-CBN executive who twitted “may mga baho si KC Concepcion.’ With a probity of a mom, Shawie chortled, “isusumbong ko na lang kayo sa Tulfo brothers.” You see, recently they guested her talk show Sharon, Kasama Mo, Kapatid.”

Herbert Shouldn’t be Afraid of Vic
All roads lead to politics for top star-TV host Vic Sotto. That’s the general consensus of people. Though Vic hasn’t confirmed it, QC mayor Herbert Bautista’s camp seems disgruntled. For its said Vic will run for QC mayor by 2013. Bistek himself admitted, “huwag naman sana.”
In my opinion, Bistek shouldn’t be afraid of Vic. His records from SK chairman, Barangay head, councilor, vice mayor and as mayor reaped solid rooting for him as a politician. Bistek established respect, admiration out of formidable accomplishments. While Vic has nothing to prove yet in the political field. I believe Vic will have a bigger chance in the senatorial slate. His diehard followers are scattered all over the country. Remember QC voters have bigger percentage of intelligent voters. And the masa there has benefited a lot from Bistek. They won’t easily junk him in favor of Vic, if ever.
Manny’s Hollywood Pic a Sure Hit
Judging from the news dispatches from US, even the Americans eagerly await the Hollywood movie debut of Manny Pacquiao. Right after his boxing bout, he’ll start filming Rough Knuckles with noted comedian Rob Schneider, a half-Pinoy. Obviously, the flick will be an action-comedy.
Hopefully, Manny will win the fight for the more that would enhance his popularity in US. Most anybody claims that his stand against same sex marriage done harum-scarum (as some snorted) works to his advantage. The more he’s talked about.
