These past days, gossips about Nora Aunor and Coco Martin have reached great heights of intrigues. Allegedly, Coco lent huge sum to Nora to pay for her condo and put money in her bank accounts. So much so that Nora seems to appear penniless.
In this regard, Nora admitted she texted Coco several times to clear her name. That albeit all the talks, she still considers Coco a son, holds high esteem for him. As of this writing, a reliable source related to me that Coco has already clarified the bunk-sleep issue about Nora’s debt.
“Coco told me it’s not true, and surprised who and how it started which is abominable for Nora. Never daw lumapit sa kanya para manghiram si Nora at the time they were filming an indie movie. Possibly it could have stemmed from the jokes at the set. Something like maraming pera si Coco kaya may mga naghihiram sa kanya.” My colleague quoted what Coco remarked.
Even before the mentioned clarification, Nora buttressed she has full respect for Coco and treating him like a son won’t ever change at all. Hopefully, the rumor-mongers will cease to demean Nora.
Kris vs Bimby in filmfest 2014
It’s still mid-year yet Kris Aquino has already acceded to have an entry at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2014 this December, the sequel of her blockbuster starrer Feng Shui. What Kris surprisingly disclosed is that she’ll be pitted against her son Bimby who will co-star with Vice Ganda in Praybeyt Benjamin 2.
“My son prodded me to allow him for he’ll do action scenes and will always be laughing at the antics of Vice Ganda, So iit’s ok with me, especially my good friend Wenn Deramas will meg it. Alam kong di niya pababayaan si Bimby. But I told direk Wenn and Vice expect me to be at the set all the time to be at bimby’s side.” Kris laughingly chuckled.
In this light, Kris assimilates the fact that Bimby’s movie might clobber Feng Shui at the tills. Rather than be doleful, she’ll be joyous and proud of Bimby’s achievement, if ever.
Trivia:
With the recent demise of the matriarch of the Vera Perez Clan who founded Sampaguita Pictures Mrs. Nene Perez and ex-actor Ramil Rodriguez, this brings to my mind what transpired decades ago. A group of newcomers were launched by Sampaguita studio to stardom at the same time called Stars’66.
These included Ramil, his brother Pepito Rodrguez, Edgar Salcedo (the son of ex Movie King Leopoldo Salcedo), Bert Leroy Jr. (ex actor Bert Leroy Sr. and broadcaster Luz Mat Castro’s son) and Dindo Fermando. The girls were Rosemarie Sonora (sis of Movie Queen Susan Roces) Blanca Gomez (actress Daisy Romualdez’ sibling), Shirley Moreno, Loretta Marquez and Gina Pareno.
Later, Rosemarie married the late actor Ricky Belmonte, sired actress-singer Sheryl Cruz who’s active in showbiz to this date. Just like Rosemarie, eventually Blanca and Shirley went abroad with their non-showbiz husbands, so with Bert who migrated also to U.S.
Subsequently Edgar and Dindo had passed away. But before Dindo departed he was recognized as one of the most versatile actors, with acting awards to boot. In the case of Loretta, when Sampaguita studio closed shop, she opted to stick as a noted faith healer prior to her death.
Duriing those years, the lone survivor of Stars’66 Gina Pareno was branded the successor to the throne of Susan Roces and Amalia Fuentes as Movie Queens, out of her popularity and talents. However, her screwball ways, controversial romantic escapades had dimmed her star stature.
Nevertheless, upon the closure of Sampaguita Pictures, Gina emerged a most sought after actress, with practically all independent producers hiring her services which accorded her best actress, best supporting actress trophies.
Suddenly then, Gina had shied away from the limelight. That was when one of her closest chums Nida Blanca was brutally murdered. Many opined that she allegedly received death threats from the real culprits, with the knowledge of the inside story of the crime.
Gina resurfaced again after years of being inactive, dispelling the talks she hid from the killers of Nida,Of course, due to her manifold acting capabilities she was besieged with movie, TV offers. This was highlighted by her winning the best actress award in the indie pic Kubrador, locally and globally via international film festivals.
Currently, Gina has never been left wanting assignments at the Kapamilya network. After the top rater Juan dela Cruz, Gina enacts Gerald Anderson’s grandma in Dyesebel, toplined by Anne Curtis
Two Sides of Freddie, Daughter’s Rift
Since the news came out about the bitterness, hatred thrown by Maegan Aguilar about her dad Freddie of Anak fame, there’s contrasting reports on their rift. As Megan blurted In TV interviews, “pinalayas ako, ang 3 kids ko na six month old ang bunso ko at ang partner ko sa bahay niya. Nagbago siya since he married a 16-year old girl. Nagsisisi ako na naging ama ko siya.”
In fairness to Freddie, he refused to comment on Maegan’s tirade, just saying he fully loves her, doesn’t want to put her in bad light. But Freddie’s camp couldn’t suppress their feelings of disgust over Maegan as one allegedly divulged.
“Pinalabas niyang masamang tatay si Freddie eh sa totoo lang, si Maegan ang domineering, abusive daughter. She shows no concern about her dad’s lovelife. That he needs a partner in life. Diyan nag-ugat ang galit niya sa ama.”
The two sides of a story always surface all the time. Which is which?
Intrigues Affect GMA-7 Sunday Show
A source revealed to me the veracity which involves the cast the GMA-7 show Sunday All Stars. The hubris, personal differences of some of the senior and teen members of the program have gotten on their nerves. Thus, resulting to a re-format.
Truth to tell, my informant confirmed that a noted dancer-actor seems bent on quitting the show, out of his altercation with a much younger co-host of the program. The former reportedly mouthed, “walang respeto sa mas nakakatanda at better than him.”
Really not sure if it’s Mark Herras and Julian Trono being referred to or other regular performers of Sunday All Stars.
Spicy Tidbits: Got a laugh when a colleague who’s obviously on the side of Raymart Santiago refuted Claudine Barretto’s tenuous accusations on him. “The nerve to say ni katiting wala siyang respeto at nagsisi to wed him. Eh for years nga harmless na tao si Raymart na nadamay sa erring ways ni Claudine. Remember the case vs the Tulfo brothers which she ignited? Later, he’s forced to protect himself sa pag-down sa kanya ni Claudine kahit mahal pa rin niya ito.”
My writer-chum, ended her words by saying it should be the other way around with Raymart regretting to choose her as his wife.
For the record, the supposed team up of Kris Aquino and Derek Ramsay in a movie for Regal Films went to mothballs. Reports have it that Kapamilya bigwigs, specifically Cory Vidanes, constrained Kris to reject it. An apologetic Kris said sorry to Derek who was all agog to work with her.
Not a few concluded that ABS-CBN management is still mad at Derek for his transfer to TV5.
Many adult women have praised Ai-Ai delas Alas for her frankness. She didn’t hide to some press people that she underwent vaginal tightening recently. She expounded it was done safely, painless in ten minutes which she did to inspire other women undergoing marital pitfalls.
“ It’s not because I’m in a hurry to find a new love. That would take quite a time.” Says Ai-Ai.
Will Tom Rodriguez’s feat de duplicated by Martin del Rosario? Just like Tom. from ABS-CBN, Martin inked a contract with GMA-7. And the sudden star stature, fame of his pal Tom has inspired Martin. Tom’s now one of the hottest stars of the Kapuso network.
Currently, Martin co-stars in the TV drama series Rhodora X, headed by Jennylyn Mercado, Jasmin Kurdi.
Personal: My deepest condolences to the family of my dear friend veteran writer-pro Ernie Pecho who died recently. During his term as president of Philippine Movie Press club, Ernie spearheaded PMPC Star Awards for movies and TV, plus the writing tilt for the movie press. Eternal repose be with you.
