The latest charitable act of Angel Locsin brings negativity which she never anticipated to tap her. On the community pantry she formed at Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon city to hand aids, support to those in need, something happened to a senior citizen who joined the long lines to receive Angel’s donations.
67 year old Rolando dela Cruz could not stand the heat, hours of waiting so he collapsed. He was rushed to the East Medica Hospital. Unfortunately, death beckoned him there. At this writing, there’s no news if Barangay Holy Spirit pushed through filing a case against Angel for not keeping safety protocols.
Not only that, many have bashed Angel for negligence and pretentious charity works. A dispirited angel instantly apologized to Rolando’s family with financial assistance and a promise an assiduous help to his loved ones, “I would prioritize in giving aid to them every time they approach me with willingness.” Angel mattered.
To those who accused Angel of put on action, this writer can attest to her inborn humanitarian nature. Did you know in her teen years, not in showbiz yet, Angel has been known to be active in charity events, especially at her place in Caloocan City. It so happened, scribe- manager the late Emy Abuan Bautista and this writer also lived in Calloocan.
At the time Angel participated as bet for Miss Caloocan City, one of the judges recounted to me why she was unanimously chosen the winner. Besides her physical attributes and talents, the board found out her admirable character. She’s kindhearted person, particularly to the less fortunate ones, a plus factor indeed why she was chosen.
Thus, during the time Angel turned a celebrity, she got Emy as her pro-manager. So many times when of people from all walks of life.
On my personal encounter with Angel I did benefit too. During the years of my serving as president of Movie Writers & Press Photographers Association of the Philippines (MOWPPAP), Angel was informed that the late Fernando Poe Jr. was actually the founder of the said club, with the aim to assist bed ridden mediamen and out of job.
At that, several times Angel sent me checks to add in the budget which Ronnie himself held her in high esteem. More than that, Caloocan residents whom I met oftentimes informed me her this and that humanitarian activities
Prior to the demise of Emy, she was teary-eyed in revealing to me Angel’s countless nice ways seldom publicized. “One thing more impressive about Angel she’s not publicity seeker .” Emy attested.
Perhaps, if those bashers are aware of Angel’s real character, they would not try to annihilate her reputation.
Robin’s in the News Again
For quite a time controversial famous action star Robin Padilla has not been talked about. Lately, however, Robin has ignited controversial out of his declaration at his facebook account. Firstly, he insisted that De La Salle University was founded by Spanish during Its time in the Philippines.
Robin ignored the statement of several historical organizations La Salle was established during American time on June 16, 1911 by Brothers of Christian Schools known as La Sallians. With his seeming disagreement, there were bashers who threw these words.
“You should have consulted first wide Mariel Rodriguez who studied at La Salle para maturuan ka kung ano ang Tama.” Plus insulting messages to Robin were sent.
In this light, being the son of the late history professor, write r of books the late Mauricio Alip whose sibling Dr. Eufronio Alip was the author of Philippine History textbook in the ‘40s who served as Secretary of Education at the time of President Elpidio Quirino, I got interested in this issue.
No offense meant for Robin but I would give credence that he made an error, must accept the real fact. Albeit in what he asserted hero Lapu-Lapu who killed Ferdinand Magellan, the discoverer of the Philippine island was a Muslim, I have no comment, I still remember that my father, uncle had never mentioned to me if Lapu-Lapu was a Muslim up to his demise.
By the way, diehard followers of Robin still anticipate his showbiz comeback after long years of absence. In any case, he is interested in a new project offered by a fresh TV producer who would venture into flicks very soon.
Ricky’s Unexpected Demise
The unexpected death of veteran editor and TV host Ricky Lo recently left many in a state of shock and in deep morn. It was not reported he was hospitalized, died of heart stroke. Days before Ricky’s demise, he called me up but didn’t mention to me about his condition which truly saddened me. He was best man at my wedding in 1978 and ninong in baptism of my daughter Myra.
For the record, from1986 Ricky was the entertainment editor of Philippine Star newspaper, turned TV host also. The programs were The Buzz under ABS-CBN, Ricky Lo Exclusive for QTV-11 and Star Talk as co-host of Lolit Solis. Those in the know have considered Ricky the dean of Philippine Showbiz.
Incidentally, Ricky published his books Star-Studded and Conversations with Ricky Lo which would serve his memoirs. Rest in peace Ricky.

Out of it, our bet Bb. Plipinas UniverseRabiya Mateo personally apologized for their rudeness. Obviously ,Nova was not affected. Heard in the finals, she would still wear the gown created by Pinoy designer Michael Cinco and has remained affable to Rabiya.
The latest news on Nova who’s the first black woman to win Miss Universe Canada, she sent messages to Filipinos. That she has no hatred for them, knowing not all of them are racists.
“Not all of you are racists. This is a teaching for all of of us. We could learn from these experience.” Nova;s exact word stated.

Lovi Poe’s still in U.S. for a vacation. Before she left, she kept mum if she would nod on the renewal of contract for GMA-7 or she’ll transfer to ABS-CBN. Lovi’s fans are bemused, particularly her manager Leo Domingo doesn’t want to talk about it. Anyway, her latest Kapuso series Owe My Love consistently gets good TV ratings.
On the first anniversary of ABS-CBN shutdown, Angel Locsin wrote a poem with the message, it remains hurting but with a call to rise up and fight for ABS-CBN. Practically all the celebrities under the Kapamilya network have been supportive thoroughly that profoundly touch its management.
Could it be true Derek Ramsay’s new love Ellen Adarna and his ex- Andrea Torres had a volatile confrontation on a chance meeting? A source quashed it off as plain rumor. Both have no ill-feelings against each other. Andrea has completely moved on since her split with Derek. She even wishes the best for the duo in their forthcoming marriage.
