Humanitarian Clique: Where Great Ideas Begin

By | April 2, 2021

Social innovation cannot take place in the absence of creative expression. Without expressing one’s thoughts and ideas, only the status quo remains. Ideas and opinions can mature to creative outcomes and provide potential solutions for local and global challenges. As the world struggles to win against the COVID-19 pandemic, people continue to search for something novel, which could help the community and the world to adapt to the new normal. The rising desire and need of people to share their ideas, thoughts and opinions about social issues has been apparent now more than ever, but there was no proper avenue to share their thoughts until now. The Humanitarian Clique is where people of different backgrounds have come together and to gather their ideas and opinions about social and global issues. It is an avenue where people can express themselves freely; where people can share their thoughts; and, where great ideas can begin.

Humanitarian Clique is a platform for self-expression, increasing awareness of imperative social issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, inequalities, racism, discrimination, poverty, mental health, anxiety, depression, disability, lack of access to social determinants of health, human rights and so much more within Canada and the developing parts of the world. Its mission is to use the platform to write well-researched articles, short reflective pieces, share opinions, poetry, artistic work, essay or anything creative that reflects philanthropy and altruistic values within the humanitarian sector at a global scale.

Some of the articles published in the Humanitarian Clique that are worth reading talk about ideas on the ills of philanthro-capitalism, gender equality, mental health, food security, modern day feminism and various topics on global issues. These articles are written by authors coming from different backgrounds, with an experience and thoughts about the issues they are deeply concerned about.
